Andropause
Androgen deficiency in the aging male (ADAM), also known as andropause, affects an estimated 1-in-200 men. Symptoms may include weakness, fatigue, reduced libido, osteoporosis.
Men frequently experience declines in testosterone levels that correlate with the hormonal changes that women experience at menopause; however, men typically have a slower and more subtle hormonal decline and develop symptoms over a period of time. When hormones are replaced or restored back to physiologic levels considered normal for younger males, men may experience a dramatic reversal of many of these changes.

Ear, Nose, and Throat

For many people, chronic sinusitis does more than make it hard to breathe – repeated attacks bring intense pressure, pain and fatigue. New advances in compounding are helping revolutionize how sinus preparations are made and administered.
Our pharamacists are ready to work with your ENT providers to formulate treatments for chronic sinusitis using powders, sterile solutions and manufactured products. Powders can be encapsulated and modified to contain certain active ingredients, usually an antibiotic, steroid or antifungal. We pride ourselves on addressing absorption and distribution problems by administering unique delivery methods.
Pain Management
Pain is inevitable. Suffering doesn't have to be.
Everyone experiences some sort of pain, whether it's a headache, muscle strain, or the result of a work- or accident-related injury. For some, pain can be chronic and something they live with on a daily basis. Pain is the most common symptom for which people seek medical help. Acute pain can easily turn into chronic pain, which can be difficult to treat. There are many commercially available pain relief medications that help with the chronic pain of conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, and other nerve and muscle pain, but they can also have unwanted side effects like drowsiness, dizziness or stomach irritation. While many patients just accept these side effects as the cost of pain relief, there may be a better solution for them: pharmacy compounding.
Palliative Care
The goal of palliative care is to provide the best possible quality of life for patients and their families.
Palliative care is “the active, total treatment of patients whose disease is not responsive to curative treatment.” Symptom control involves therapies for pain management, nausea & vomiting, dry mouth & stomatitis, excessive pulmonary secretions/death rattle, radiation mucositis and proctitis, and wound care.
Pediatrics
We work together with practitioners, children, and their families to customize medications and meet specific needs.
Children pose many challenges when it comes to medication: they may resist having to take a medication, dislike the taste or texture, have difficulty swallowing solid dosage forms, and are fearful of injections. We can compound traditional oral medications into pleasantly flavored suspensions, solutions, concentrates, freezerpops, “gummy bears” or lozenges, in colors that entice the child to take the medication.
Podiatry
Foot issues such as warts, athlete's foot, and nail infections may be helped with compounded medications.
Penetrant enhancers can be added to improve the absorption of topically applied medications. Numerous compatible medications can be combined into a single dosage form for ease of administration. Also, a synergistic effect can result when certain medications are used concomitantly.
Sports Medicine
Athletes, coaches, trainers, team physicians, physical therapists, and even “weekend warriors” are faced with problems including inflammation and muscle spasms.
We work together with these individuals and other healthcare professionals to customize medications to meet specific needs. Our compounding specialists can use customized preparations that contain the most appropriate ingredients in the best vehicle to most efficiently provide the needed drug to the affected area.
Veterinary
We offer solutions to problems by compounding specialized medications which meet the unique needs of each animal - pets, exotics, horses, or zoo animals.
Commercial animal medications are often available in only one size and/or strength. For example, a tablet may be too large to give to a cat yet many tablets may be needed for a horse. We can create a preparation which contains the most appropriate dose for a specific animal. We also prepare medications in flavored dosage forms that animals would prefer. Tuna for cats, liver for dogs, banana or tutti-frutti for exotics.
Wound Care
With wound treatment, you have choices. Through a prescription order, a formulation can be compounded to contain the proper combination of active ingredients, in the most appropriate base, to treat a specific type of wound.
For example, the choice of cream, ointment, or gel can be clinically significant. Each time a wound needs to be cleaned, there is the potential for disruption of new tissue growth. Gels, which are more water soluble than creams or ointments, may be preferable for wound treatment because a gel can be rinsed from the wound by irrigation. Another useful dosage form is the “polyox bandage” - which can be puffed onto a wound and adhered even if exudate is present. Our polyox bandages can be compounded to contain the active ingredient(s) of your choice.
